Wave for Slack

Ask about your meetings without leaving Slack

Wave AI records and summarizes your meetings. Wave for Slack lets you ask about them from a DM, a thread, or /wave, and sends you a recap after each recording. Answers come only from your own recordings.

How it works

Install once. Connect once. Ask anything.

1

Add Wave to Slack

Click Add to Slack and approve the install. One install covers the whole workspace.

2

Connect your Wave account

Each person clicks a private Connect Wave button in Slack, which opens app.wave.co to link their own account. You only do this once.

3

Ask about your meetings

Ask in a DM, in a thread, or with a slash command. Wave answers from your recordings, and only you see the answer.

Three ways to ask

Ask wherever the question comes up

The answer comes from your own Wave recordings, with a Sources line that links to the sessions it used.

DM Wave

Summarize my last meeting

Message Wave directly, or open it from Slack's AI apps sidebar and keep it beside whatever you're working on.

@Wave in any thread

@Wave what did we agree on the launch date?

Mention Wave in a thread. Only you see the answer, and Share to thread posts it for everyone when you want.

/wave anywhere

/wave what did I commit to this week?

Type /wave and your question in any channel or DM. The answer appears privately, right where you are.

Asked in a DM? Use Share… to post the answer to a channel. Sources stay linked for you, and only you can open the sessions behind them.

Recaps

A recap in Slack after every recording

When a recording finishes, Wave DMs you a recap with the summary and your open action items. Want your team to see them too? Turn on recaps in a channel with one command.

Private channels need /invite @Wave first.

/wave recaps herePosts recaps of your meetings to this channel: Zoom, Meet, and Teams bot recordings and desktop meeting recordings.
/wave recaps here allIncludes every recording, not just meetings.
/wave recaps offStops recaps in this channel.
/wave recaps dm offTurns off the recap DM Wave sends you after each recording.
Privacy

Your meetings stay yours, even in a shared workspace

Never reads your channels

Wave only sees messages that mention it and its own conversations with you. Nothing else in your workspace.

Your recordings only

Answers come only from the Wave account of the person who asked. Nobody can ask about your meetings but you.

Private until you share

In channels, only you see the answer. Sources link to your sessions, and only you can open them.

Same plan, same limit

Works on free and paid plans. Questions in Slack count toward the same daily limit as the Assistant in the Wave app.

Disconnect any time with /wave disconnect, the Disconnect button on Wave's Home tab in Slack, or Settings → Integrations on app.wave.co.

Who it's for

Just you, or your whole team

Solo

Install Wave to your own workspace and DM it whenever you need something from a meeting you recorded. Recaps land in your DMs, so your follow-ups are waiting where you already work.

Teams

One install for the workspace, then everyone connects their own Wave account. Each person asks about their own recordings, shares answers to threads when it helps, and can post meeting recaps to a team channel.

Not in this version: a team-wide shared library, using Slack messages as context, or contacting support from Slack.
