How to set it up

Open grok.com/connectors, select New Connector, then Custom.
Paste https://mcp.wave.co as the MCP server URL and continue.
Sign in to Wave in the window that opens, using the account you record with.
In a chat, open + → Connectors, pick Wave, and ask your question. In Grok Build, run grok mcp add --transport http wave https://mcp.wave.co instead.

How to search meeting transcripts in Grok

Try this with a meeting you have recorded in Wave. Grok can use the saved transcript to answer a specific question; review the source before relying on the answer.

1. Record and connect
Record a meeting in Wave with the participants’ agreement, then let the transcript finish processing. Add Wave as a custom connector at grok.com/connectors and sign in to the Wave account that contains the recording.
2. Ask about a decision
Name the meeting or give a date range so the assistant can find the right conversation. Replace the example date with one from your own library.
Search my Wave meetings from last week. What did we decide about the website launch? Separate decisions, action items with owners, and questions that are still open. Cite the source meeting for each.
3. Check the source and follow up
Open the referenced Wave session and compare important details with the transcript or recording. If the answer is missing a deadline, ask the assistant to find it rather than infer one.
Which deadlines were explicitly stated? Quote the relevant transcript passages and say when no deadline was given.

Things to know

Grok reads what Wave has recorded — it doesn't record meetings itself. Recording happens in the Wave apps (iPhone, Android, web, desktop, Chrome extension).
Access is OAuth-scoped: you approve what Grok can do when you connect, and you can disconnect at any time from inside Grok.
The connector needs a Wave account with recordings in it. Wave's free tier includes 30 minutes of recording per month.

Does this work in Grok Bot?+

Grok Bot installs its tools from the Cursor Marketplace, where Wave's listing is under review. Until it's live, use the Grok app or Grok Build — both connect to the same Wave server.

Does it work on my phone?+

Yes. Connectors belong to your Grok account, so once you add Wave on grok.com it's available in the Grok apps for iOS and Android.

Does Grok record my meetings?+

No. Wave does the recording and transcription in its own apps. Grok connects to what you've already captured — it can search, read, and organize, but recording never happens through Grok.

Is my meeting data used to train AI models?+

Wave never uses your recordings or transcripts to train AI models. Your data belongs to you, and Grok's access is scoped to your account — you can disconnect whenever you want.

What can Grok change in Wave?+

Very little on purpose. Grok can search and read your sessions, save action items back to a session, and file sessions into folders. It can't delete a recording or edit a transcript.
