How to set it up

Open the Wave AI Note Taker listing in ChatGPT's plugin directory and select Install plugin.
Sign in to Wave in the window that opens, using the account you record with.
Ask ChatGPT about your meetings, or type @Wave to call it directly — no Developer Mode, no URLs to paste.
Install on the web and Wave is there in the ChatGPT desktop and mobile apps too.

How to search meeting transcripts in ChatGPT

Try this with a meeting you have recorded in Wave. ChatGPT can use the saved transcript to answer a specific question; review the source before relying on the answer.

1. Record and connect
Record a meeting in Wave with the participants’ agreement, then let the transcript finish processing. Connect Wave from ChatGPT’s directory and sign in to the Wave account that contains the recording.
2. Ask about a decision
Name the meeting or give a date range so the assistant can find the right conversation. Replace the example date with one from your own library.
Search my Wave meetings from last week. What did we decide about the website launch? Separate decisions, action items with owners, and questions that are still open. Cite the source meeting for each.
3. Check the source and follow up
Open the referenced Wave session and compare important details with the transcript or recording. If the answer is missing a deadline, ask the assistant to find it rather than infer one.
Which deadlines were explicitly stated? Quote the relevant transcript passages and say when no deadline was given.

Things to know

ChatGPT reads what Wave has recorded — it doesn't record meetings itself. Recording happens in the Wave apps (iPhone, Android, web, desktop, Chrome extension).
Access is OAuth-scoped: you approve what ChatGPT can do when you install the app, and you can disconnect at any time from inside ChatGPT.
The app needs a Wave account with recordings in it. Wave's free tier includes 30 minutes of recording per month.

No. Wave AI Note Taker is a published listing in the ChatGPT app directory — install it like any other app, no Developer Mode required.

Is my meeting data used to train AI models?+

Wave never uses your recordings or transcripts to train AI models. Your data belongs to you, and the app's access is scoped to your account — you can disconnect whenever you want.

Does this work with Claude and other assistants too?+

Yes. Try "Summarize the meeting Sam shared with me." Shared meetings are read-only, and search covers only your own. ChatGPT can also share yours: "Share yesterday's standup with maria@example.com." It confirms before anyone gets access.
