Translate Arabic Audio to English

Upload Arabic audio or video and read it in English, line by line. It works best on Modern Standard Arabic, such as news, lectures, sermons and formal interviews, and handles everyday dialect speech with lower accuracy. The Arabic transcript and an English AI summary come with it.

How to translate Arabic audio to English

  1. Upload the recording. Drag in an audio or video file: an interview, a voice message, a lecture, a family video, a meeting in another language.
  2. Pick the languages. Arabic and English are already selected. Change either one if your recording needs it, or set the spoken language to auto-detect.
  3. Read, copy or download. The translation opens first, speaker by speaker with timestamps. Switch to the original transcript or the AI summary, copy the text, or download it as .txt, .srt or .vtt subtitles.

Common questions

Does it understand Arabic dialects?

Modern Standard Arabic gives the most accurate results. Egyptian, Levantine, Gulf and Maghrebi dialects are recognized, but less reliably, especially Darija and fast, informal speech. Expect more misheard words in dialect recordings and check important passages against the Arabic transcript.

What is it good for?

Common uses are lectures and religious talks, news clips, interviews for research or journalism, and calls with colleagues in the Middle East or North Africa. It is a machine translation, not a certified one, so do not rely on it for legal or immigration documents.

How does the translation handle Arabic names?

Names are transliterated into English, and spellings can vary (Mohammed, Muhammad). If a name matters, use the spelling the person uses in English.

Can I download English subtitles for an Arabic video?

Yes. Download the translation as .srt or .vtt. The English cues keep the timing of the original Arabic lines and display left to right as normal English text.

Is this audio translator really free?

Yes. You can translate up to 5 files per day (200MB each) free, with no account and no watermark. For unlimited recording and transcription, the Wave app has a free plan and paid plans from $80 a year or $15 a month.

What happens to my file?

Your file is uploaded to temporary storage, transcribed and translated. We may then keep a private copy of the audio and the original transcript to improve Wave's speech recognition. They are never published. Please don't upload recordings you aren't comfortable sharing with us.
