Coconote Review: Is the AI Lecture Note App Worth It?
Coconote records your lectures and turns them into notes, quizzes, flashcards, and even podcasts. Quizlet bought it in February 2026. Here is what it gets right, what is missing, what it costs, and when another app fits better.
This review uses Coconote’s site, its app store listings, and coverage of the Quizlet deal, all linked below and checked in November 2026. We did not run an accuracy benchmark.
What Coconote does well
- A complete study kit. One recording becomes notes, transcripts, AI chat, quizzes, flashcards, study games, AI podcasts.
- Lots of inputs. Record a lecture or bring in PDFs, documents, videos, links.
- Languages. Records and translates in 100+ languages.
- Apple Watch and Mac. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Android, web, Mac (Apple silicon).
- Well reviewed. 4.8 on the App Store from 17K ratings; 4.6 on Google Play from 6,451.
Where Coconote falls short
- No public pricing. Free-plan limits and the monthly versus yearly split aren’t published on its site.
- Ownership change. Quizlet acquired Coconote in February 2026. Coverage doesn’t say whether it stays a separate app long term.
- Class-shaped. It is built for lectures and study material; phone-call recording and meeting bots aren’t part of the product description.
- Recent OS required. The current iPhone build requires iOS 26.
Coconote pricing as of November 2026
Coconote is free to start; limits not published. The US App Store lists Coconote Pro $9.99 to $152.99; Family Plan $189.99. Check the price in the app for your country before subscribing.
Who Coconote is for
Students who want flashcards and practice quizzes generated from every class, especially across several languages, and who are happy inside the Quizlet ecosystem.
The alternative if you record more than lectures
Wave AI records lectures with the audio kept next to a speaker-labeled transcript and summary, including a Lecture-to-Study Guide template and photos of slides. It also records phone calls, joins Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams, captures system audio in the Wave desktop app, and records from Apple Watch and Wear OS. It doesn’t make flashcards or quizzes. Free for 30 minutes a month; Wave Pro is $15 a month or $80 a year on the web. More options: Coconote alternatives.
