Otter.ai Pricing in 2026: Every Plan and Its Limits
Otter.ai has four plans. The sticker prices are simple; the limits are where people get caught: minutes per month, a cap on each conversation, import allowances, and AI Chat quotas. Here is the full picture, checked against Otter's pricing page.

- The free plan is generous on minutes but short on length. 300 min/month, but each conversation stops at 30 min, you get 3 lifetime imports, and only the 25 most recent conversations stay visible.
- Pro’s 90 min cap covers most meetings but not a long workshop or a double lecture.
- Monthly billing roughly doubles Pro. $16.99 month to month versus $8.33 billed yearly.
What changed recently
- Business is currently shown at $24 instead of $30 a month: 20% off for 3 months, first-time subscribers.
- Students get 20% off Pro ($79.99/year).
- We found no dated record of a 2025–2026 change to Pro’s price or minutes.
- Separately from pricing, Otter faces Brewer v. Otter.ai, a proposed class action filed August 15, 2025 in N.D. Cal., alleging it recorded participants without consent. It is a lawsuit, not a ruling.
Cheaper alternatives to Otter.ai
- Wave AI: free for 30 minutes a month; Wave Pro is $15 a month or $80 a year on the web with no minute cap and no per-conversation limit. Wave also records phone calls and records from Apple Watch and Wear OS, which Otter doesn’t. Otter’s free plan gives more minutes; Wave gives unlimited length on paid.
